Lactuca sativa – A multi–coloured blend of leaf lettuces selected to look & taste great. Have flashy gourmet salads all summer long. Planting instructions: Direct sow in early spring as seed will germinate when the days get warm enough. Sow thinly ¼" deep & 1" apart in rich, well drained soil. Full sun to partial shade. Plant successive crops 2 weeks apart to ensure a constant harvest. Companion plant with carrots, onions, & radishes.

Harvest information: Harvest lettuce early in the morning. Harvest when plants are 3 to 4 inches tall. Simply cut off the leaves above the soil.

Mild Mesclun Mix

Lactuca sativa – Named for the Provençal French mescla, "to mix" which literally means mixture. Mesclun is a treat for the eye as well as the tongue, with its colorful mix of textures. The original idea was to make a salad that touches upon every taste and texture sensation: bitter, sweet, tangy, crunchy and silky.
